Birds always have a home here

In chilly air, my friends took flight,

Their feathers soft, a fleeting sight.

I built them homes, a welcoming line,

Bright little houses where they could dine.

Each day I’d greet with tender care,

They chirped in joy, no need to spare.

But as the frost began to creep,

One by one, they chose to leap.

With hopeful heart, I watch the sky,

Wishing for wings that flutter nigh.

When blossoms bloom and the sun's ablaze,

I’ll wait for them through wintry haze.
