While King Arthur ruled, he commissioned a statue made in the likeness of the Sword in the Stone. It was mounted atop a fountain which was then placed under the bridge to Camelot in a scenic spot. Many a young man thought it to be the original sword and they fought each other for a try at dethroning Arthur to rule the land. Arthur called upon a Sword Maiden to guard the statue. Tales grew of her unyielding beauty as she raised her own sword against approaching lads. But she served her purpose well, and peace settled once again upon the realm.
