I don't talk about it much, but shared a bit on Facebook.  A few weeks ago, my cat, Pandora, breathed her last.  She was a gorgeous seal-point Himalayan with vivid blue eyes.  I was slave to that fluffy miss for 19 years.  

When I first saw her, I was at my vet's office.  I glanced over and saw little balls of fur in a cage with a beautiful Persian mama.  The receptionist said, "Oh my yes, would you like to buy one?  The owner is a breeder.  Part of her property was damaged in a fire, and she doesn't want these sweethearts disturbed by all the reconstruction.  They're 5 weeks old."  I wasn't shopping for a kitten.  My husband wasn't exactly going to be thrilled with a new addition.  The other kittens were mewing and tumbling around.  But Pandora was sitting there, slightly apart, just gazing at me with a slight tilt to her tiny head, like, well?  All rational thought melted away.

She was my companion for 19 years.  I have to smile, remembering.  She was MY cat.  Pandora merely tolerated my husband.  She reacted to the rest of family and friends like be gone with you!  My brother used to say she was the prettiest cat he'd ever seen...and also the meanest.  My small granddaughter would try to pet her, then run to me and say "Mean kitty!"  She wasn't mean, she was just threateningly vocal if disturbed.

Pandora would let me pick her up, scoop her in and out of the carrier for vet time, take her on the deck and cradle her to my shoulder so she could twitter back at birds.  And of course, cater to her every need and pet her endlessly, telling her what a gorgeous girl she was.  Cats DO preen.  :)  She was content being near me but not a lap kitty; it wasn't her thing.  Imagine the poignancy, of her last day, when she wanted me to hold her in my arms.  She was in the final stage of renal failure and we knew it was a matter of time.  That knowledge never makes it easier.  I held my little friend until her bluer than blue eyes glazed over and her heart beat no more.  I'd been strong and comforting for her because she needed me.  Then, I was finally able to cry.

We have a sweet little rescue dog, and the parade of family and friends.  But my home still feels empty without her.  Really, it isn't my home - it's my heart.

Enchantment - A Small Foreshadowing

Game of Thrones fan?  You must visit this round of Enchantment.  The theme is The Iron Throne, and tonight we learn who won!  It's been a tumultuous ride, with ups and downs, thrills and disappointments.  But we're watching, AND we're talking about it.  The story has gotten us to communicate, love it or hate it.  Theories have kept our brains busy.  And the anticipation of tonight has grown to dizzying heights.  

In this post, I started out planning a Melisandre scene.  But as you can see it morphed into more Dany.  Her character suits my typical SL look anyway so it was comfortable.  Capturing a deleted scene (cough), early in her marriage, Dany notices that fire doesn't seem to burn her.  She feels a pull from the dragon eggs - a wedding gift - which seems more than merely her fascination of their beauty.  She gazed into the ball of flames in her hands.  The foreshadowing moment?

Spooky Cabin in the Woods

While I was formulating this post, it started taking on a mind of its own! My original, singular intent was to share with you this adorable outfit by .sass. It's called Keep on Dancing and you'll find it at the Pretty Things Showroom & Event. It even has accompanying lingerie, bra and panties. You can see the cute little bow of the panties peeping out over the pants. The tiptoe sneakers are included.

Then, a reverse for me, I added Zuri Rayna's Witch jewelry, consisting of this sparkly choker and matching earrings. (I usually start with jewelry and build from there, wink). All good little witches need this jewelry, super cute! It's very sparkly and emits a little bling to be eye catching.

I had just purchased this marvelous hairstyle by Dela, at Uber, called Kristy, and am very happy to model it for you. This is the materials enabled version, and it's quite to-die-for. It adds some moonglow to my tresses.

I'm wearing Catwa mesh eyes. I noticed while working on my pics that I do believe I've gotten a bit other-worldly with my glow option, but went along anyway...since I'm a little witch girl this month. ;) I made a mental note to turn down the glow. This was a "start on post at night/finish in the morning" work in progress; when I logged in I found that there's been an update to Catwa's eyes. Hey, no toning down the glow, just replace with the new ones!

So this is where I started getting a little go-crazy with my post! While unboxing things for .sass, I noticed the designer, Sass Heroux, has made a little Haunted Cabin. This build is available at the Twe12ve event. Love it! Great texturing, and inside there's even a window with lace curtains (shown in close up pic above). Sure I'll blog it - I like blogging builds, landscaping, etc. when I can. I dove into my Swank folder. OMG, Yep, went a little crazy. I added items by Tm Creation, Balderdash, and Outside the Box! You seriously NEED to shop at Swank this month - the Halloween/Gothy stuff is fantastic for clothing AND decor! Spruce up your place as befits the season.

My partner, Easy, was patiently waiting for me to work on my post....elsewhere...or so I thought! When he finally spoke up, we realized that he'd been standing near me all along. There'd been an SL glitch and I couldn't see him. He appeared after a relog. So! Since I could finally see him again! - lol - I put him to work posing with me. These animations are part of Tm Creation's [Moments] Cuddle Wooden Chest, and there are lots of 'em! I highly recommend picking this up to enjoy time with your sweetie.

Behind us, and not giving it the justice it deserves with my photography, is The Brew Window by Outside the Box! It is a full length window box avec dark curtains and a witch brewing scene. It even has a little surprised pose with it, quite fun for pics and story themes.

Laura's Lair - The Case Of The Missing Ring

Last night, I was zipping along, pleased with these pics. Have you ever had that feeling that you're forgetting something? A little nagging feeling, as yet undefined, because things are going so well. Too well. Hmm, what have I forgotten.

By the way, I seriously like DeLa Hair! I see several other DeLa styles I need to get. This is Kirsty and she's beautiful!

Revamped is moving along, with some lovely offerings by Prism, Slipper Originals and makeup by Kodaijin. My dress is by Prism and it's called Kat Perforated Leather Dress. Very stylish and sexy perforations indeed! The dress is accompanied by a hud for a total of 4 beautiful colors. 

My Kodaijin makeup is called Kagayaku Mi, wearable by Lelutka, Omega, Visage, Classic, in 24 colors! Lastly but not leastly (wink) for the Revamped honorable designers are these lovely Studded Sandals by Slipper Originals. They arrive with the wonderful color hud we now happily expect from Slipper Originals!

My beautiful jewelry is by Zuri Rayna, the set being named Serpo Collection. The color set I'm modeling is Plum/Black Sterling. It is extremely top drawer for the elegantly dressed lady or the casual, beautiful woman (sometimes we can be both in the blink of an eye). Your folder will include the Serpo necklace, earrings, bracelet and ring. Pause. Uh-oh. Ring?

Walking around my apartment, a rise of panic ensuing. Have I lost my matching ring?? Now surely I didn't forget to take a pic of the entire collection. Cough. I must carry on with Nancy Drew-like skills to locate that ring! Where oh where could it be??
