Leshen magnetism

She started visiting the temple daily.  The call, the pull of the leshen was invisible yet undeniable. At first, it was pity for a creature captured by her townspeople and placed on display to frighten the children into obedience.  As she would stare at him, into his eyes of nothingness, slowly she began to see everything in those hollows.  She must help him escape.

Cracked dolls from space!

Awkwardly, she tottered through the amusement park.  Her alien creators attempted to fashion her like the humans they'd studied, but something seemed a little off, and off-putting.  Onlookers fell silent as she passed.  Her porcelain-like face had cracked when the spaceship entered the atmosphere.  It COULD be the artistry of makeup.  Was she simply costumed for Halloween, the people wondered.  Or, was she unreal, a living dead doll, placed here with some sort of ulterior motive?
