Intruder alert is an alert status on Federation starships and space stations. This status can be declared at any time, either by a crewmember or station computer settings. When a landing party beams down to the planet's surface and an intruder alert status on the ship activates, there's definitely some shenanigans afoot. We can transgress into other stories to arm ourselves with light sabres...because, well, phasers are cool, but light sabres are cooler. ;) Even an Admiral wants to get in on the action.
